Each child observation room has ceiling microphones in the four quadrants of the space. Each microphone is tuned for that particular zone. There is a central, 360° HD camera channelized for four channels, one for each quadrant of the space. The audio is routed through DSP mixers in the control rooms and then streamed to a media/web server in a central location. The IP streams from the cameras and microphones are aggregated and injected into a WOWZA streaming server. Participants in the control rooms can observe children through 1-way windows and personal headsets. Control panels allow participants to select on which microphone they want focus their attention. After or during an observation session, participants have the ability to utilize desk mounted tablets that can pull the IP stream of the video and audio from the space they are observing. Participants are able to “scrub” back up to an hour to re-watch activities from the observation rooms to complete their notes. A custom web interface was developed for user navigation and authorization of the playback streams.

The main boardroom / EOC is outfitted with equipment with state-of-the-art control and streaming systems. This space has high-end modular furniture so that the room can be configured to suit the meeting or event. This design required all microphones to be wireless tabletop base stations. Presentation inputs consist of digital and analog connections located in floor boxes as well as the option to stream directly to the presentation server in the AV control room. There is a large projector and projection screen as well as real-time streaming of presentation sources directly to end-users and participants tablets, laptops and mobile devices. The IP presentation streams are aggregated and injected into a WOWZA streaming server. Participants are able to “scrub” back up to re-watch meetings in progress. Digital audio is recorded on a network drive for review and for creating meeting minutes. A custom web interface was developed for navigation and authorization of the playback streams. The ability to stream to end-user devices was required to meet the modular configuration of the space. Classrooms and learning spaces consist of digital and analog inputs, projectors, projection screens, and automated touch panel controls.

This public safety complex has multiple classrooms, an EMS simulator lab, indoor shooting range, and an EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Obstacle Course). The classrooms within the main building utilize centralized multi-matrix switches which are located in two racks in the IDF room. Sources include digital and analog laptops, digital tablets/iPads, PC with built in Blu-Ray, ATSC digital tuners, AppleTV’s, digital document cameras, and composite video.

The EMS simulator room has a lighting grid, ceiling microphones and speakers, IP streaming cameras, and a working ambulance on “rockers”. This room is designed to create a high-stress environment for participants. Cameras and audio from microphones are recorded and streamed for archive and playback. Audio is distributed to several zones in the space to create a live environment.

This professional development space included a 70” LED/LCD Sharp interactive touchscreen on a floor stand set back into the wall mounted work bench so that the screen is flush with the edge of the instructor workbench. The end users have interactive control of the connected PC/Mac from the touchscreen as a large interactive space. The PC/Mac is located near the front of the room under the desk. At the back of the room, there are additional RGBHV (VGA) input plates with audio for a second presenter laptop. USB connections were installed so the laptop at the rear can be controlled via the Sharp interactive touchscreen when it is being used. Audio, HDMI, and USB switching is controlled inside a small AV cabinet located at the front of the room under the desk/work bench. The end user also has a 7” Extron touch panel for selecting inputs, switching and volume controls.

The project was for a new state-of-the-art police department in the City of Delano including an emergency operation room, briefing room, large conference and meetings rooms, and a small private conference room for the chief of police. All audiovisual spaces have digital paths and connections and are equipped with large format displays. The EOC and briefing rooms have wireless touch panel controls.

High-tech Electric furnished and installed the following sections of the electrical/low voltage systems: Data Communications – Cat6 cabling for all voice and data connections. Audio-Visual Systems – Crestron Digital Media for all spaces, projector/screen for large meeting room, and large format 70-80” displays in all other spaces.

High-Tech Electric furnished and installed AV presentation systems, Smartboards, and ALS for all the classroom spaces. System components consisted of Extron touchpanels and processors, projectors and projection screens, program and speech audio distribution, and Smartboards in the first floor collaboration room.

Two existing 4x3 video walls totaling 24 displays needed to be upgraded/replaced. The recessed space in the wall also needed to be reinforced as well as modified to incorporate HVAC upgrades. A third existing outdoor fiber mesh did not require an upgrade. High-Tech Electric furnished and installed (24) Samsung UD46C 46” displays, a reinforced wall mounting structure and supports, new video wall pull out mounts from Chief, transmission cabling, and new content servers and video processors. High-tech Electric installed a new complete media system consisting (3) Dell Precision R7610 servers as players with custom video processing/digital signage software. One player designated for each video wall (Fiber Mesh, LED array 1 and LED array 2) for custom windowing/views. Each R7610 has multiple digital outputs so that, in the event of failure, another output can be used from the same R7610 or from one of the other video wall servers. Content is stored on dual QNAP NAS servers in raid 6, mirrored, with enterprise drives. Both QNAPS are configure together as a storage pool. If one goes offline, the other is used for content as a redundant unit.

The Del Norte Hall renovation project was a multiple contractor project consisting of complete seismic and AV technology upgrades.

High-Tech Electric furnished and installed a two-room, divisible AV presentation system consisting of digital and analog inputs, digital satellite tuners, and public address paging and audio. Digital signage displays were installed throughout the facility, each having a dedicated connection to the in-house CATV, satellite TV, and digital signage system. The digital signage displays were controlled individually via a web-based controller for granular control so that certain channels and “advertising modes” could be achieved. Macro functions also allowed for all on/off, or global channel/feed selections.

High-Tech Electric furnished and installed a new conferencing microphone and DSP system, HD projector and tensioned projection screen, AMX Envoa 32x32 matrix switcher, and 6 AMX DXlink input plates at various locations in the facility. A separate conference room was also connected to the matrix system for centralized routing of all presentation signal. This space can also be used as a spill over room. The main meeting hall also had several LCD displays capable of displaying presentation content or digital signage when not in use. The presentation output was also routed through an Extron multi-graphics processor for video wall layouts and then finally to an Ncast telepresenter for webcasting and remote viewing of presentations and meeting.

High-Tech Electric furnished and installed new data communications, 7 IDF/BDF telco rooms, a data center with hot-aisle containment system, 12 presentation AV spaces, security/control/access and IP video security. AV presentation spaces included lecture capture cameras, touchpanel automation, and lighting control.

High-Tech Electric furnished and installed new data communications, CATV, 5 IDF/BDF telco rooms, 2 presentation AV spaces, security/control/access and IP video security. The game and activity room space included an AMX Envoa 16x16 matrix, multiple gaming sources and a 2x2 video wall array for display from one or more multiple gaming sources. Audio was distributed to multiple zones above each gaming area for separate broadcast of audio. Control is via an AMX 10” recessed touch panel.

High-Tech Electric furnished and installed new data communications, 3 IDF/BDF telco rooms, 12 presentation AV spaces, security/control/access and IP video security. Each AV presentation scape is equipped with an AMX DVX3155 all-in-one switcher processor, DSP, voice-lift, program and speech audio distribution, fixed IR ALS, and DVD/VHS and BluRay players. Six of the spaces have lecture cameras. Control is via an AMX 10” touch panels and control integration includes lighting, drapes, screens and all fixed source equipment.

High-Tech Electric furnished and installed new data communications, an IDF/BDF telco room, and 10 interactive presentation AV spaces. Each AV presentation scape is equipped with an Epson 455 interactive ultra-short throw projector. The control processors, switchers, and touchpanels are from Extron Electronics.

Each room also has a Smartboard and connectivity via Extron AV Trac over the floor to lectern positions.

The main arena audio sound system consists of JBL 4215 loudspeakers aligned to distribute to specific quadrants on the main arena floor. The design allows for up to five events taking place on the arena main floor at the same time without having the audio from one event disrupting another. Distributed audio zones include an additional three outside and one in the lobby. All audio is mixed via a rack mount DSP in the AV control room. Sources include five wireless microphones, CD player, and two iPod docking stations. Audio can also be routed via the network to the rack mounted network player. Audio routing and control is done via a rack mount Extron 10” touchpanel as well as a web-browser.
